The Upupa epops bird, or hoopoe, has always been one of my favorites. Years ago, I designed an online cafe concept that I thought would be really cool, based on the hoopoe bird as a theme – both as a mission and color scheme.
The hoopoe was recently voted as the national bird of Israel, so that just makes this serendipitous.
