Dear Diary,
Got some good writing in today, but still not done with the story. I really thought I’d be able to wrap it up for the first draft. Nope.
It’s ok, it’s just turning out to need more detail and more space than I originally thought. I’m good with it, just need to adjust my expectations and maybe how I envision it. The characters and what they’re doing just needs more space. Plus, I can always make changes in the next draft.
Chances are good that I’ll only be expanding the story rather than shortening it though. I think if I’m going to write a short murder mystery, I need to somehow come up with a plot that’s considerably simpler. Also fewer characters.
